I received an email today with links to two more sites that have photos of Jorge and some of his early artwork. Those of us that were fortunate enough to know Jorge recognize the smile in the above photo quite well - cherubic with just the right hint of mischief.

When I first posted this blog, I didn't even know Jorge's full name. Now, a google search turned up this lovely gem of a video, which I imagine is a tribute from his friends and family in Brazil. I believe the music in the video is Jorge's, but am not certain.

Jorgie was actually American & Portuguese with dual citizienship...concieved in Ithaca NY and born in Mozambique, East Africa. His Great Grand Father went from NYC on vacations to Africa to visit his brother(Carlos de Abreu)... there he met the love of his life, sold his businesses in NYC and so Jorgie was born an "African"
